Push-to-Install Mechanism

 

Steps

1. Threaded rod enters the housing and pushes against the two plungers (blue and red)

2. The downward push of the threaded rod pushes the plungers away from the threaded rod

3. The threaded rod can freely move in one direction past the jaws

4. When the threaded rod is no longer pushed or is pulled, the spring (black) pushes the plungers back to the narrow part of the conical housing, instantly locking the threaded rod in place

5. The lock nut (gold) can be screwed up to disengage the push-to-install mechanism
